Week 4 : Energy

This weeks theme was energy. At 1st it was a real battle to try and figure out what kind of photograph would portray energy, as i think this theme can be interpreted in various ways, from green houses, to batteries, from wind turbines to power stations.

I eventually settled on what I thought would be a great shot for energy.... and here it is.. :)

Week 4 : Energy

I actually had a lot of fun doing these pictures, as it made me have to work the grey matter and think about the settings, composure and angles... good to test the mind every now and again..

Thoughts and comments welcome!

Have a great week, and dont forget, Live..Love...Remember

Picture from the weekend - 2

Lately I have found it quite amazing the little gems that you can find when you actually look for them, and they are found in the most unlikely places. Over the past few weekends, I have ventured out, not too far from home... the garden to be precise, and what has been found intrigues me and one would never even know the location of a photograph, let alone believe it if you told them.

My picture from the weekend this week, stems from the project that we are taking part in. This was another favourite of mine, and just couldn't let it sit in my external and not be seen.

Hope you like it as much as we do :)

Comments welcome and have a happy week! Monday is nearly over!

Week 3 : Macro

Week 3 has arrived, and the weeks theme is Macro.

This theme was also a little trickier, and rather frustration without an macro lens, however, we did what we could with the ever trusty 18-250, and here is the result below.
Im finding it amazing what is at your finger tips when you put your mind to finding something to shoot... lately, the back garden has a wonderful variety of subjects just waiting for their turn in the spot light. :)

Comments welcome and have a wonderful weekend!

December 2011 Shooting

Since this blog was only started in the new year, we thought we would add our shoots that we did in December 2011 for you to read about.

Shoot number 1 was the shoot of our GFP Spring Time Competition winner! Marezanne brought her 3 beautiful girls along to Delta Park for this shoot, and was accompanied by her friend to assist.
What a beautiful afternoon it was and the lighting was stunning for us to capture Marz and her girls in all their beauty.
What truly and amazingly (if there is such a word) well behaved these doggies were, and for the times they did get a little over-excited, its amazing what some doggie treats can do!
Thank you Marz for entering the GFP Spring Time Competition and all the support. It was an absolute pleasure to do this shoot for you and we hope you love these pictures as much as we do!

Here is a little sneek peek:

The next shoot we did in December was the Leask Family shoot. Last year we had the privilege of doing a shoot for the other side of the family, and everyone was so excited and pleased with the photies they saw, this side of the family decided they just HAD to have a shoot of their own!

So, just before Christmas, we met with the entire Leask family, who had all gathered together in the same country for the 1st time in 20 years, and what better reason could you think of to have your family portraits and photo shoot done.

An energetic family all round, full of laughs and eager to try out anything their crazy photographer asked of them, producing some fun, loving and picture perfect photos for them to treasure in the years to come.

Thank you to the Leask family for letting GFP capture your unique memories!

Picture from the weekend - 1

So lately we have been inspired to do a bit more shooting, and every weekend, when we dont have any shoots booked, we just take to taking pictures. Seeing the world for what it is and living in the moment. Im not sure if its the 52 Project that has brought this inspiration on, or if it just caused by the hustle and bustle of life in the week... I dont know, but what i do know is that its definitely going to produce some wonderfully interesting images :)

Here is last weekends picture:
A simple message, but yet said so well... we hope that in seeing and reading this, that one does not forget to LIVE... to LOVE... and to REMEMBER...our little recipe for a fulfilled life.

Comments and thoughts welcome :)

Week 2 : Warm

Morning Everyone!

We have waded through week 2 of the 52 project, and the theme was WARM.

Week 2: Warm

For GFP, this theme was a little trickier than week 1, but nevertheless, here we have it :)

Everything about this for us portrays 'warm'. From the oven that gets and creates warmth, to all the delicious and scrummy warm foods that you can prepare using it. From wonderfully steamy soups on those cold winter days,to the basics of warming water. Just by looking at this collage of pictures, I can feel the warmth that is created.. can you?

Here's to many more WARM things... and let these wonderfully warm summer days continue!

Week 1 : Newness

So here we are, almost at the end of the 1st week for January, and it feels like it should be at least June!

GFP have decided to embark on a project that a fellow colleague and her husband have come up with . Its called 52 Project (click here to read more) and we think its a fantastic idea to keep us shooting on a weekly basis, as well as ensuring the creative juices flow regularly. :)

So here we go, Week 1 : Newness

This little cutie pie is Shady. The newest addition to one of the GFP members, and how much cuter could a little pup get. Shady is just about 12 weeks old, and everything in her world is new. She loves to explore and find new adventures to embark on, she has a new home and a new sister and lots of new humans that have fallen in love with her too!
Her new favourite toy, is Robs not so new slipper, which is just about as big as she is!

Here's to everything NEW!

New Beginnings for 2012

Happy New Year!
From all of us at Gen Frank Photography, we hope 2012 is a year full of love and laughter, spent with friends and loved ones. May this year be the year where all your dreams are fulfilled and your worries are forgotten - LET THIS BE YOUR YEAR!

We are starting the year fresh, and as you can see, we are now blogging :). Thank you to everyone for the support over the last year, how amazing it has been and you have each had a part to play in our success.
Our newsletters will no longer be a monthly occurrence, but instead, you will be able to log onto this blog and see the current and up-to-date happenings within the GFP world. Here you will also be able to leave your thoughts and comments too, so our communication can be a more sociable one.
2011 newsletters will still be viewable on our website. www.genfrankphotography.com

Once again and as always, thank you to Claudine Henchie for the GFP New Years logo.

Lets start this year off with a bang!
